Don't ever put your lens on another camera from a store/in the store...because you might feel a little stupid when you discover that you can't take your lens off... ....yeah...
So here is the story: Being frustrated with the fact that everyone's photos seem to look so much more crisp than mine (before I realized that it's all photoshop CS2 that does it all) I thought, "perhaps it's the camera that adds the crispness. So, seeing the 5D with its, I don't know, 12 MegaPixel, I figured, "hey, I'll simply slip my card in the camera and put my lens on and snap a few shots." Click...click...click..."Okay I'm done... OH CRAP!" I look around, left and right feeling intensly scared and stupid at the same time. My friend walks up and I tell him what happened and he stands back and laughs...yes, I very Murray thing to do. "Stay here!" I ran and got some store clerk and tell her what happened hoping that she wasn't thinking that I'm trying to steal a nice lens from the store. As it turns out, someone has done this before, so she ended up laughing at me as well. She was busy, so she got ANOTHER guy who ALSO laughed at me (I was laughing at this point too) and he said that I made his day...
THE END...
..actually, he got out a screw, unscrewed the lock thingy and took my lens off. "WHEW!!!!" All is well...
Paul Harvey is tied up at the moment, so we're all counting on you to give us "The Rest of the Story". What happened?

Yeah, what happened? Did the alarm go off at best buy and the bouncers stop you for stealing a new lense? Did you try telling them "Well guys, umm I didn't steal the camera, i just got my lense stuck on it, and took the camera till my lenses could be fixed???

Oh no! So what happened at the end? Did you end up getting a locksmith? :) Thanks for the warning!

The price for that EOS 5D is a good bargain, if they make you buy it! The Canon Australian site lists the body alone as $4999 AUD - add another 25% to that for US dollars.!!!

Besides, my guess is that with your camera any lack of crispness comes not from your camera but your lens selection.

The crispness of an image is a combination of camera, the lens, the ISO, color and white balance, a lot of which a camera can do automatically if you wnat it to. Photoshop is a nice tool, but if you want to be a good photographer, fix things before they get to Photoshop, not after. Rely on good technique, not Photoshop. This is becoming a pet peeve of mine, sorry.
